2328                                Municipal Charters

contiguous to and binding upon the Easterly corporate limits of The
City of Salisbury, popularly known as the "Moss Hill Lane Area" and
bounded on the North in part by the property of Jack Ward, and in
part by the run of Peggy Branch, and bounded on the West by the
existing corporate limits of the City of Salisbury and the Easterly line
of Moss Hill Lane, and providing for the conditions and circumstances
applicable to the proposed change in boundaries of The City of Salis-
bury.

WHEREAS, The City of Salisbury has received consents to annexation,
signed by at least 25% of the persons who reside in the area to be annexed
and who are registered voters and by the owners of at least 25% of the
assessed valuation of the real property located in the area sought to be an-
nexed, being contiguous to and binding upon the Easterly corporate limits
of The City of Salisbury and called "Moss Hill Lane Annexation", for identi-
fication, and

WHEREAS, The City of Salisbury has caused to be made a verification
of the signatures on said consent to annexation and have verified that the
persons signing the petition represent at least 25% of the persons who re-
side in the area to be annexed and who are registered to vote in the county
elections for Wicomico County, in which said area is located and that the
persons signing the consent to annexation are the owners of at least 25%
of the assessed valuation of the real property located in the area sought to
be annexed, all as of March 23, 1970, as will more particularly appear by
the certification of Philip W. Cooper, Director of Public Works for The
City of Salisbury, attached hereto; and

WHEREAS, it appears that the consents meet all the requirements of
law.

Section 1. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SALISBURY, That it is hereby proposed
and recommended that the boundaries of The City of Salisbury be changed
so as to annex to and include within said City all that certain area of land,
together with the persons residing therein and their property, contiguous
to and binding upon the Easterly corporate limits of The City of Salisbury,
and being more particularly described as follows: ALL that piece or parcel
of land situated adjacent to and binding upon the easterly corporate limits
of the City of Salisbury, Wicomico County and State of Maryland, being
bounded and abutted as follows: That is to say, Beginning at a point on
the easterly right of way line of Moss Hill Lane and said point also being on
the corporate limit and at twenty-eight decimal five, eight (28.58) feet
North from the vertex formed by said corporate line and the corporate
line on the southerly right of way line of Brittingham Street, thence by
and with said corporate line on Moss Hill Lane North four degrees zero four
minutes West, nine hundred and thirty-seven decimal three, four (937.34)
feet to a cement post; thence by and with the property line of Jack Ward
North eighty-five degrees fifty-eight minutes thirty seconds East, three
hundred and eighty-three decimal one, three (383.13) feet to a cement
post; thence still by and with the property line of Jack Ward North three
degrees forty-eight minutes thirty seconds West four hundred and seven
decimal two, five (407.25) feet to an iron pipe North of Peggy Branch;
thence South fifty-nine degrees twenty-two minutes thirty seconds East,
eighty-four decimal eight, seven (84.87) feet to an iron pipe North of
Peggy Branch; thence South seventy-two degrees fifty-three minutes
thirty seconds East, one hundred and seventy-six decimal zero (176.0)
feet to a point in Peggy Branch; thence South fifty-seven degrees forty-
