2302                                Municipal Charters

of William Sheppard, thence North 63° 58' 50" West, 1,208.71 feet to a
concrete monument on the West side of U.S. Route 301, thence South
66° 16' West 450.53 feet to a concrete monument, thence South 64°
17' 50" West, 1,640.35 feet to a concrete monument, thence North 27°
40' 20" West, 217.71 feet to a concrete monument, thence North 58° 49' 50"
West, 300 feet to a concrete monument, thence North 31° 10' 10" East
1,300 feet, more or less, to the waters of Queenstown Creek, thence with
the waters of Queenstown Creek meandering North to the point of begin-
ning.

Section 2. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the conditions
and circumstances applicable to the change in said corporate boundaries
and to the residents of property in the area to be annexed are, as follows:

That the persons residing in the areas to be annexed and the owners
of all property therein shall be generally subject to the provisions of the
Charter of the Town of Queenstown, without special treatment as to rates
of the municipal tax, or as to municipal services and facilities, except
that they will not be subject to real estate taxes levied for the fiscal year,
July 1, 1970, to June 30, 1971, by the Town of Queenstown.

Section 3. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this resolution
shall be effective at the end of forty-five (45) days following its final
enactment unless a proper petition for referendum hereon shall be filed
as permitted by law.

NOTICE OF
CHARTER CHANGES AND AMENDMENTS

Notice is hereby given that on December 21, 1970, the Mayor and
Common Council enacted the following changes and amendments to the
Charter, Town of Riverdale: Changes in the qualifications of Mayor and
Council; change voter age to 18 years; some minor changes in election
laws and provision for the use of voting machines in Town elections;
method of selection of a Mayor to fill any vacancy in his office; additional
strengthening of the ordinance enforcement; and additional power to ap-
point Appeal Boards.

This notice shall constitute a fair summary of said changes and
amendments as required by law of the State of Maryland, and said changes
and amendments shall become effective 50 days from the date of passage
unless petitioned to referendum in accordance with Article 23A of the
Annotated Code of the Public General Laws of Maryland as amended.
