House Bill No. 182—Garrett County Historical Society

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 9(31)
of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Revenue and Taxes," subtitle "What Shall Be
Taxed and Where," to add certain societies to the list of those societies
whose real property is exempt from State, county and city taxation.

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17, of the Maryland Con-
stitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 182.

This bill exempts the Garrett County Historical Society from
real property tax.

House Bill 37, which was enacted by the General Assembly and
signed by me on May 26, 1972, accomplished the same purpose as
House Bill 182 by exempting Historical Societies generally from the
real property tax. Therefore, it is unnecessary for me to sign House
Bill 182.

trucks.
