1932                             Joint Resolutions

Whereas, when this project is completed, approximately 30 years
from now, the new island has been estimated to be worth $15,000
per acre as prime industrial acreage; and

Whereas, this project would be-foul and be-cloud the water of the
Bay, and deny a recreation area to a great number of our citizens;
and

Whereas, it would be harmful to the interests of all those using
the Chesapeake Bay to have this project completed; now, therefore,
be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the Governor
and the Board of Public Works be requested to choose an alternate
site not so important to recreation in the Chesapeake Bay for the
dumping of dredging spoils from Baltimore Harbor; and be it
further

Resolved, That copies of this Resolution be sent to the Governor,
the Board of Public Works and the Hart and Miller's Island Environ-
mental Group, Box 7906, Essex, Maryland 21221.
