ing expenses necessitated by their duties, when authorized and
approved by the Commission.
The Maryland Veterans Commission, subject to the provisions of
Article 41, Section 205C of this Code, shall make such rules and
regulations as it may deem necessary for administration and dis-
bursement of such veterans' relief funds as are provided for in the
budget, and the State Service Officer, hereinafter provided for, shall
approve all bills and vouchers before payment by the Comptroller.
There shall be a committee of [eight] nine persons, to be known
as the advisory Maryland veterans committee, composed of the cur-
rent department commanders, respectively, of the American Legion,
the Marine Corps League, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Dis-
abled American Veterans, the Spanish-American War Veterans, the
World War I Veterans, the Catholic War Veterans, the Jewish War
Veterans and the designee of the Fleet Reserve Association as de-
termined by its board of directors of Branch 6. The members of
such committee shall serve without pay and the committee shall
advise and work with the Maryland Veterans Commission in the
duties imposed upon them by this subtitle, but shall not be members
of the Commission.
Sec 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 756 of
Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Replacement
Volume), title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Shore Erosion Con-
trol," to Remove a restriction on shore erosion control on State
owned land.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 756 of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1970 Replacement Volume) title "Natural Resources," subtitle
"Shore Erosion Control," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
756.
The Department of Natural Resources shall have the following
powers and duties:
(a) To develop and implement a program to educate the public
on all phases of shore and bank erosion, its causes, its effects, the
locations where erosion is a problem, and steps to be taken to
control erosion.
(b) To review petitions for formation of shore erosion control
district presented to any of the counties or Baltimore City and to
report to the counties or Baltimore City as provided by Sec. 167B
of Article 25 of this Code.
