SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 716 of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1970 Replacement Volume), title "Natural Resources," subtitle
"Oysters and Clams," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

All moneys received by the Comptroller of the treasury, under the
provisions of this subtitle, from license fees, taxes, fines, penalties,
forfeitures, and all royalties paid to the State for oyster shells and
clam shells removed from bottoms beneath the tidal waters of Mary-
land or any other source, shall be credited by said Comptroller to
the Fisheries Research and Development Fund. The Fisheries Re-
search and Development Fund shall be administered by the Depart-
ment of Chesapeake Bay Affairs and used for repletion of fisheries
resources[, marketing of fisheries products,] and related research.
The Fisheries Research and Development Fund may be used to
match federal funds that may be or become available for research
and development of fisheries resources.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.

AN ACT to add new Sections 348A through 348F, inclusive, to the
Code of Public Local Laws of Charles County (1969 Edition,
being Article 9 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "Charles County," subtitle "Roads and Bridges," to follow
immediately after Section 348 thereof, relating to the acceptance,
maintenance, and construction of private roads in Charles County;
authorizing the collection of benefit assessments on abutting prop-
erties to pay the cost of certain road construction or improvements
under certain conditions; providing for liens against property for
which benefit assessments are unpaid; and relating generally to
the improvement and construction of roads and the procedure in-
volving the levying of benefit assessments in Charles County.
