to administer oaths, diligently and faithfully to discharge all duties
of the office. In case any such person shall fail to qualify within
thirty days after his election or if any of their successors shall fail
to qualify within thirty days after his election or appointment
as Committeeman, as hereinafter provided, or in case of any vacancy
through death, resignation, or otherwise, the remaining Committee-
men shall fill the vacancy by the appointment of a resident of Bel
Air, of legal age, who shall hold office for the term or unexpired
term.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.

157R. SALE, DISTRIBUTION OR USE OF OTHER FUELS NOT
AFFECTED AND SALES OF GASOLINE FOR SPECIAL
PURPOSES NOT AFFECTED.

This subtitle as it applies to removal of lead in gasoline shall not
affect the sale, distribution or use of any motor vehicle fuel other
than gasoline, nor shall it affect the sale or distribution of gasoline
for the purposes described in Section 1570 of Article 56.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.

(Senate Bill 784)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 157R
of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax," subtitle "Sale,

Distribution or Use of Other Fuels Not Affected," add as it applies

to lead in gasoline and to exempt the sales for special purposes.

(1972 REPLACEMENT VOLUME), TITLE "LICENSES," SUB-
TITLE "REMOVAL OF LEAD IN GASOLINE," TO CLARIFY
THE LEAD GASOLINE LAW TO PERMIT THE SALE OF
LEAD GASOLINE FOR USE IN RACING VEHICLES, BOATS,
AIRPLANES, AND CERTAIN KINDS OF EQUIPMENT.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 157R of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume), title "Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax," sub-
title "Sale, Distribution or Use of Other Fuels Not Affected," (1972
REPLACEMENT VOLUME), TITLE "LICENSES," SUBTITLE
"REMOVAL OF LEAD IN GASOLINE," be and is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
