association, or society or if the curriculum of such school, college,
university, or other educational institution or institution of learning
is directed toward the propagation of a particular religion; and
[(3)] (4) it shall not be unlawful for an employer, employment
agency or labor organization to observe the terms of a bona fide
seniority system or any bona fide employee benefit plan such as a
retirement, pension or insurance plan, which is not a subterfuge to
evade the purposes of this subtitle, except that no such employee
benefit plan shall excuse the failure to hire any individual.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.

CHAPTER 436
(Senate Bill 640)
AN ACT to add new Section 51C to Article 1 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Allegany County (1963 Edition, being Article 1 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Allegany
County," subtitle "County Commissioners," to follow immediately
after Section 51B thereof, which was added by Chapter 99 of the
Acts of 1971; to authorize the County Commissioner of Allegany
County to levy an annual tax, the proceeds thereof to be donated
to the Allegany County Economic Development Company to enable
the Company to engage in the industrial promotion of the County,
and generally relating thereto.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 51C be and it is hereby added to Article 1 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany County (1963 Edition, being
Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title
"Allegany County," subtitle "County Commissioners," to follow
immediately after Section 51B thereof and to read as follows:
51C.
The County Commissioners of Allegany County are authorized to
levy annually and collect FROM THE ASSESSABLE PROPERTY
IN ALLEGANY COUNTY, as other taxes are levied and collected,
a sum of money which shall be at the discretion of the said Commis-
sioners. The sum, so levied and collected, shall be donated to the
Allegany County Economic Development Company, or its successor,
to enable the said Company, or its successor, to engage in the
industrial promotion of Allegany County.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.
