THE AMOUNT OF STATE AID FOR COMMUNITY COL-
LEGES AND REGIONAL COMMUNITY COLLEGES WITH
SMALL ENROLLMENT IN LOW POPULATION SUBDIVI-
SIONS.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That subsection SECTION 7 (b) of Article 77A of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1971 Supplement), title "Higher Education," sub-
title "Community Colleges," be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

(b) Beginning for the State's fiscal year which commences on
July 1, [1971] 1972, the Governor shall place in the State budget
an item to pay the State's fifty percent (50%) share to each of the
community colleges operating under this subtitle. [It shall not ex-
ceed the sum of seven hundred dollars ($700) for each full-time
equivalent student as computed above for the full fiscal year.] It shall
not exceed the maximums set forth in the following table based on
the number of full-time equivalent (FTE) students enrolled at any
community college covered by this subtitle.

IN THE CASE OF COMMUNITY COLLEGES OF LESS THAN
500 FULL-TIME EQUIVALENT STUDENTS IN SUBDIVISIONS
OF LESS THAN 50,000 POPULATION ACCORDING TO THE
1970 CENSUS AND OF ANY REGIONAL COMMUNITY COL-
LEGE OF LESS THAN 500 FULL-TIME EQUIVALENT STU-
DENTS SERVING SEVERAL SUBDIVISIONS WITH A COM-
BINED POPULATION OF LESS THAN 100,000 ACCORDING
TO THE 1970 CENSUS, THE STATE'S FIFTY PERCENT (50%)
SHARE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE SUM OF EIGHT HUNDRED
AND SEVENTY-FIVE DOLLARS ($875) FOR EACH FULL-
TIME EQUIVALENT STUDENT AS COMPUTED ABOVE FOR
THE FULL FISCAL YEAR.
The State Board for Community Colleges shall certify to the State
Comptroller on or before the last day of both September and March
in each year one half of the estimated annual amount which is due
the local board of trustees of each community college, with full
settlement at the end of the fiscal year and on the audit of the com-
munity college, and thereupon the Comptroller within five days shall
draw his warrant on the Treasurer of the State of Maryland for the
respective amounts due the said local boards of trustees; and the
Treasurer of the State of Maryland upon receiving such warrants
shall immediately pay the amounts due to the respective local boards
of trustees.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.
