Load," exempting vehicles engaged in the transportation of utility-
poles, NURSERY STOCK, AND RACING SHELLS from the
limits on front and rear extensions of the load.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 14-105 of Article 66½ of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1970 Replacement Volume), title "Vehicle Laws," subtitle "Size,
Weight and Load," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

14-105.

Subject to the foregoing provisions of this subtitle limiting the
length of vehicles and loads, the load upon any vehicle operated
alone or the load upon the front vehicle of a combination of vehicles
shall not extend more than 3 feet beyond the foremost part of the
vehicle, and the load upon any vehicle operated alone or the load upon
the rear vehicle of a combination of vehicles shall not extend more
than 6 feet beyond the rear of the bed or body of such vehicle.
Provided, however, vehicles or combinations of vehicles engaged in
the transportation of utility poles by or for any public utility com-
pany, or the transportation of pilings and/or poles or mill logs,
OR THE TRANSPORTATION OF NURSERY STOCK OR RACING
SHELLS, shall be exempt from the provisions of this section.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health and safety and having been passed
by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the members
elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the same
shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 455
(Senate Bill 405)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 706 (a)
of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Oysters and
Clams," requiring the Department of Fish and Wildlife to set the
regulation on containers of all oysters sold in this State.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 706 (a) of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1970 Replacement Volume), title "Natural Resources," sub-
title "Oysters and Clams," be and it is hereby repealed and re-en-
acted, with amendments, to read as follows :

706.

(a) All oysters in the shell and all oyster shells sold in this State
shall be [measured either in a half bushel tub, a bushel tub, a bushel
