invalid for any reason, such invalidity shall not affect the other
provisions or any other application of this Act which can be given
effect without the invalid provisions or application, and to this end,
all the provisions of this Act are hereby declared to be severable.
Sec. 4 6. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1971.

(Senate Bill 304)
AN ACT to add new Section 125 to Article 66C of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume), title "Natural
Resources," subtitle "Department of Game and Inland Fish," to
follow immediately after Section 124 thereof to prohibit the manu-
facture, distribution, sale or purchase of any merchandise or
product made from any animal or part of any animal KILLED
AFTER JULY 1, 1971, WHICH IS listed on the United States List
of Endangered Native Fish and Wildlife as amended from time to
time AS OF JANUARY 1, 1971, and to provide a penalty for
violations of this section. THE TAKING, POSSESSION, TRANS-
PORTATION, PROCESSING OR SALE OF ENDANGERED
SPECIES AND RELATING GENERALLY THERETO.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 125 be and it is hereby added to Article 66C of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume), title
"Natural Resources," subtitle "Department of Game and Inland
Fish," to follow immediately after Section 124 thereof, and to read
as follows:
125.
(a) It shall be unlawful for any individual, partnership, corpora-
tion, company, society or association to manufacture, distribute, sell
or purchase any merchandise or product that is made from any
animal or part of any animal KILLED AFTER JULY 1, 1971,
WHICH IS listed on the United States List of Endangered Native
Fish and Wildlife (Part 17 of Title 50 of the Code of Federal
Regulations, Appendix D), as amended from time to time. AS OF
JANUARY 1, 1971.
(b) Any individual, partnership, corporation, company, society or
association that violates this section shall be fined $50 for each
individual item of merchandise or product involved.
125.
(A) DEFINITIONS. FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS ACT,
THE TERM—
(1) "FISH AND WILDLIFE" MEANS ANY SPECIES OR SUB-
SPECIES OF ANY MAMMAL, FISH, WILD BIRD, AMPHIBIAN,
