regular registration, temporary registration, or trip permit or
registration.
(j) Suspension of reciprocity benefits.—Agreements, arrange-
ments or declarations made under the authority of this section may
include provisions authorizing the Department to suspend or can-
cel the exemptions, benefits or privileges granted thereunder to a
person who violates any of the conditions or terms of such agree-
ments, arrangements or declarations or who violates the laws of this
State relating to motor vehicles, or regulations lawfully promulgated
thereunder.
(k) Agreements to be written, filed, must be approved by the
Governor and available for distribution.—All agreements, arrange-
ments or declarations, or amendments thereto, shall be in writing
and shall be filed in the office of the Commissioner, and shall not
become effective until approved by the Governor. A copy of each
agreement, arrangement or declaration, or amendment thereto, shall
be filed by the Commissioner in the Office of the Secretary of State
within thirty (30) days after the execution or the effective date of
the instrument, whichever is later. The Department shall provide
copies for public distribution upon request.
(1) Reciprocity agreements in effect.—All reciprocity and pro-
portional registration agreements, arrangements and declarations
relating to motor vehicles, in force and effect at the time this section
becomes effective, shall continue in force and effect until specifi-
cally amended or revoked as provided by law or by such agreements
or arrangements.
(m) Section part of and supplemental to motor vehicle regis-
tration law.—This section shall be a part of and supplemental to the
motor vehicle registration law of this State.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.

(House Bill 1119)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 37(g)
of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Sheriffs," subtitle "Compensation and Duties,"
to increase in Cecil County the number of deputy sheriffs; to
authorize certain other additions to the sheriff's staff; to change
the allowance allotted for salaries of the deputies and other staff
members; to require the County Commissioners to pay the operat-
ing expenses of the sheriff's office and the County Jail; and rais-
ing the sheriff's salary.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 37(g) of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1969 Replacement Volume), title "Sheriffs," subtitle "Compen-
sation and Duties," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
