conviction thereof, shall be fined fifty dollars ($50.00). Pharmacists
violating this section shall be subject to disciplinary action by the
Board of Pharmacy.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 25 of
Article 32 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement
Volume and 1970 Supplement), title "Dentistry," subtitle "In
General," updating generally and clarifying the language of Sec-
tion 25 by the use of proper current dental terminology.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 25 of Article 32 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1967 Replacement Volume and 1970 Supplement), title "Dentistry,"
subtitle "In General," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
25.
It shall be unlawful for any person or persons, not duly registered
and licensed to practice dentistry, or for any association, corpora-
tion or other entity:
(a) To make, construct, alter, repair, duplicate or supply any
[denture, plate, partial plate, bridge, splint, orthodontic or prosthetic
appliance or any appliance to be worn or used as a substitute for
natural teeth or for the regulation of natural teeth except upon
authorization or prescription] oral prosthesis, orthodontic appliance,
regulatory appliance, supportive appliance, or any other intra-oral
appliance or restoration to be worn or used in the human mouth
except upon written authorization given by a registered and licensed
dentist and constructed on, or by use of, casts or models made from
impressions taken by a registered and licensed dentist, and no appli-
ance shall be placed or adjusted in the mouth except by a registered
and licensed dentist; or
(b) To solicit or advertise, directly or indirectly, by mail, card,
newspaper, magazine, telephone directory, periodical, pamphlet, radio,
television, display, or in any other manner to the general public to
construct [supply, reproduce, or repair prosthetic dentures, bridges,
plates, or other appliances], alter, repair, duplicate or supply any
oral prosthesis, orthodontic appliance, regulatory appliance, sup-
portive appliance, or any other intra-oral appliance or restoration
to be used or worn as substitutes for natural teeth or for the regu-
lation of natural teeth.
(c) Any person violating the provisions of this section shall be
[deemed] guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be
