Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume), title "Rev-
enue and Taxes," sub-title "State Department of Assessments and
Taxation," to follow immediately after Section 232A thereof, and to
read as follows:

232B.

Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 9 of this Article exclud-
ing exempt property from assessment for purposes of ordinary taxa-
tion and excepting the property of the United States from this section,
all real property and any improvements thereon located in the State
and exempted from the payment of any ordinary taxes on July 1,1971
by any provision of law shall be valued and assessed according to the
method prescribed by this Article by persons authorized by the Direc-
tor of the Department to perform such valuations. These valuations
shall be maintained in the records of the Department and of each
county and Baltimore City in which exempt property is located in the
manner required by the Director. None of such valuations shall be
included in the total assessment of all property subject to State,
county, or city ordinary taxation for the purpose of distribution of
State monies under any provision of law.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That it is the intention of the
General Assembly that the valuation of tax exempt property required
by Section 1 of this Act shall be completed, within budgetary limita-
tions, by January 1, 1973.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1971.

CHAPTER 362
(Senate Bill 84)

AN ACT to add new Section 59-106 to the Code of Public Local
Laws of Prince George's County (1963 Edition and 1967 Sup-
plement, being Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), and new Section 70-112 to the Code of Public Local
Laws of Montgomery County (1965 Edition, as amended, being
Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), titles
"Prince George's County," and "Montgomery County," respec-
tively, subtitle "Park and Planning Commission," to follow im-
mediately after Sections 59-105 and 70-111 of the respective
County Codes, to prohibit the Park and Planning Commission
from acquiring new land for the purpose of constructing an
administration building or using land already held by that Com-
mission for the same purpose without the prior approval of the
Chief COUNTY Executive and County Council of Prince George's
County and the Chief COUNTY Executive and County Council of
Montgomery County, acting jointly.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 59-106 be and it is hereby added to the Code
