(House Bill 1047)
AN ACT to add new Section 79 to the Code of Public Local Laws
of Charles County (1969 Edition, being Article 9 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Charles County," subtitle
"County Commissioners," to follow immediately after Section 78
thereof, as added by Chapter 56 of the Acts of 1969, enabling the
County Commissioners to enter into agreements with adjacent
counties for the transportation of children attending parochial
or private schools provided that the adjacent counties enact
reciprocal agreements.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 79 be and it is hereby added to the Code of Public
Local Laws of Charles County (1969 Edition, being Article 9 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland) title "Charles County,"
subtitle "County Commissioners," to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 78 thereof, as added by Chapter 56 of the Acts of 1969, and to
read as follows:

The County Commissioners are authorized to enter into agreements
with adjacent counties to provide transportation for pupils attending
private or parochial schools provided that the adjacent counties enact
reciprocal agreements with Charles County.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take affect
July 1, 1971.

CHAPTER 193
(House Bill 1057)
AN ACT to add new Sections 135K and 135L to the Code of Public
Local Laws of Worcester County (1961 Edition and 1968 Supple-
ment, being Article 24 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land), title "Worcester County," subtitle "County Commissioners,"
to follow immediately after Section 135J thereof, as said Section
was amended by Chapters 31 and 476 of the Acts of 1966, Chapters
346, 404 and 407 of the Acts of 1968 and Chapter 650 of the Acts
of 1970, authorizing the Worcester County Commissioners to grant
to each incorporated town sums of money to , WITH THE RE-
QUEST THAT THE MONEY be used exclusively for the con-
struction and maintenance of streets, and requiring the Worcester
County Commissioners to begin negotiations not later than Janu-
ary 1, 1972, with the various power companies currently serving
the various unincorporated towns and other rural areas in
Worcester County for the conversion of the street lighting systems
therein located from incandescent to mercury vapor lighting, and
to provide for the cost of the mercury vapor lighting to be provided
in the budget of the Worcester County Commissioners.
