sions of the [subtitle] title, shall be subject to the power and authority
of the Secretary of Licensing and Regulation as set forth in Article
41 of this Code, or elsewhere in the Laws of this State.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.

AN ACT to add new Sections 801 to 806, inclusive, to Article 93A
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume),
title "Protection of Minors and Other Persons Under Disability,"
to follow immediately after Section 704 thereof and to be under
the new subtitle "Veterans' Guardianship"; to provide for the
Administrator of veterans Affairs as an interested person in all
proceedings involving guardianships of Veterans Administration
beneficiaries, the issuance of certificates showing minority, guard-
ians' bonds, accounting by guardians, investments permissible
by guardians and compensation of guardians.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Sections 801 to 806, inclusive, be and they are hereby added
to Article 93A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Protection of Minors and Other Persons Under
Disability," to follow immediately after Section 704 thereof and to
be under the new subtitle "Veterans' Guardianship" and all to read
as follows:
801. Administrator of Veterans Affairs as Interested Person.
The Administrator of Veterans Affairs shall be an interested
person in any proceeding for the appointment, removal or discharge
of any guardian who is receiving or expects to receive any money
from the Veterans Administration for a minor or disabled person
who is a Veterans Administration beneficiary and in any suit or
other proceeding affecting in any manner the administration by the
guardian of the estate of any present or former beneficiary which
includes assets derived in whole or in part from benefits paid by
the Veterans Administration to the guardian or his predecessor for
the beneficiary. Notice of such suit or proceeding shall be given to
the office of the Veterans Administration having jurisdiction over
the area in which the suit or proceeding is pending at least 15 days
prior to any hearing thereon unless such notice is waived in writing.
802. Evidence of Necessity for Guardian of Minor Beneficiary of
the Veterans Administration.
Where a petition is filed for the appointment of a guardian for a
minor who is a Veterans Administration beneficiary, a certificate of
the Administrator or his authorized representative, setting forth
the age of such minor as shown by the records of the Veterans
