CHAPTER 76
(Senate Bill 363)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 470E (b)
of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Maryland
Wholesome Meat Act," to remove the three year limitation on the
existence of the Wholesome Meat Advisory Council of Maryland,
and to clarify the language therein.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 470E (b) of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume), title "Natural Resources,"
subtitle "Maryland Wholesome Meat Act," be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and to read as follows:
470E.
(b) For this purpose there is created [for] a [period of three
years the] Wholesome Meat Advisory Council of Maryland, which
has the duty of advising the State Board of Agriculture in the mak-
ing of rules and regulations for meat inspection under this subtitle,
establishing production standards and making changes in them
[same] from time to time for the advancement of the meat process-
ing industry.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.

CHAPTER 77
(Senate Bill 367)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 667 (a)
of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Mining," sub-
heading "Strip Mining," to add subparagraph (a) (1) for substi-
tution of certificates of deposit in lieu of corporate sureties for
revegetation bonds under certain circumstances.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 667 (a) of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1970 Replacement Volume), title "Natural Resources," subtitle
"Mining," subheading "Strip Mining," be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

(a) The Land Reclamation Committee shall also establish re-
vegetation bonds for each open-pit mining operation at the time of
approval of the mining and reclamation plan. The amount of these
bonds shall be based upon the estimated revegetation costs for the
