of process on file with the register in [said] each county OR BAL-
TIMORE CITY WHERE ANY REAL OR LEASEHOLD PROP-
ERTY WAS LOCATED, the name of the court which appointed him,
a brief description of all real and leasehold property owned by the
decedent in the county, and that claims may be filed with the regis-
ter at any time within six months from the date of first publication.
He shall record in each appropriate register's office a certification
that he has published such notice as required.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.

(Senate Bill 362)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 40 (p)
of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Supple-
ment), title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact," subtitle
"State's Attorney," to provide for the salaries of the State's At-
torney for Montgomery County, the deputy State's attorney, assist-
ant State's attorneys, administrative assistant, special investigator,
and clerks; to provide for the number of assistant State's attorneys
and clerks; to provide for the appointment of an administrative
assistant; and generally relating to the State's Attorney for Mont-
gomery County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 40 (p) of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1970 Supplement), title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in
Fact," subtitle "State's Attorney," be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
40.
(p) In Montgomery County, (1) the State's Attorney's salary is
[twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000)] thirty thousand dollars
($30,000) per annum. The State's Attorney shall devote his full time
and attention to the duties of his office as State's Attorney and shall
not engage in the private practice of law at any time in any jurisdic-
tion during his tenure of office.
(2) The State's Attorney may appoint a deputy State's attorney
and [eight] eleven assistant State's attorneys. The deputy State's
attorney's salary shall be determined by the State's Attorney in his
discretion, but shall not exceed [twenty-two thousand five hundred
dollars ($22,500)] twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000). The as-
sistant State's attorney's salaries shall be determined by the State's
Attorney in his discretion, but none shall exceed [eighteen thou-
sand dollars ($18,000)] twenty-two thousand five hundred dollars
