Section 2. The Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Commission
created by Resolution 6-214, as amended by Resolution No. 6-1329, shall
continue in existence as constituted prior to the effective date of this
enactment at which time it shall be constituted as provided in Section 1
of this enactment, provided, however that the seven non-governmental
and/or judicial members appointed by the County Council under Resolu-
tion 6-214 shall continue to serve until the expiration of their terms at
which time their successors shall be appointed by the County Executive
subject to confirmation by the County Council as provided in Section 1 of
this enactment.
Section 3. All Acts, Ordinances and Resolutions inconsistent herewith
are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency. Resolutions No.
6-214 and 6-1329 are hereby repealed.
Section 4. Severability.
The provisions of this Article are severable and if any provision,
sentence, clause, section or part thereof is held illegal, invalid or uncon-
stitutional or inapplicable to any person or circumstances, such illegality,
invalidity or unconstitutionally, or inapplicability shall not affect or
impair any of the remaining provisions, sentences, clauses, sections or
parts of the Article or their application to other persons or circumstances.
It is hereby declared to be the legislative intent that this Article would
have been adopted if such illegal, invalid or unconstitutional provision,
sentence, clause, section or part had not been included therein, and if the
person or circumstances to which the Article or any part thereof is in-
applicable had been specifically exempted therefrom.
Section 5. Effective date.
This Act shall take effect on December 7, 1970.
