be made from a maximum of ten years to a period not to exceed thirty (30)
years, so as to spread the total cost over a longer period and thereby reduce
the amount of each quarterly installment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, By the Mayor
and Council of Greensboro, this 5th day of October 1970, that Section 302
(g) of the Charter of the Town of Greensboro be amended to read as
follows:
"302(g) Special Assessments may be made payable in annual or more
frequent installments over such period of time, not to exceed thirty (30)
years, and in such manner as the council may determine. The council shall
determine on what date installments shall be due and payable. Interest
may be charged on installments at the rate to be determined by the
council."
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the amendment to the
Charter herein set forth take effect on the 25th day of November 1970,
unless on or before the 16th day of November 1970, a petition for referen-
dum thereon is filed with the Clerk of said Town;
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution
and proposed amendment be posted in the Town Hall for at least forty
days prior to the 16th day of November 1970, and that a summary of the
proposed amendment be published in the County Record at least four times
during said forty-day period;
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of said Resolution
and Charter amendment, as and when finally enacted, be registered in the
office of the Clerk of the Town of Greensboro, the Clerk of the Circuit
Court of Caroline County, Maryland, the Director of the Hall of Records of
the State of Maryland, and with the Director of the Department of
Legislative Reference of the State of Maryland, in accordance with Article
23A, Section 17 of the Annotated Code of Maryland.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, we have hereunto subscribed our
names and caused the Corporate Seal of the Town of Greensboro to be
affixed hereto, and duly attested by the Clerk of said Town.
