AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 26-11
(c) of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replace-
ment Volume and 1970 Supplement 1971 REPLACEMENT VOL-
UME) title "Election Code," subtitle "Fair Election Practices," to
clarify that treasurers of central committee and political committees

tion laws.

Honorable Thomas Hunter Lowe
Speaker of the House of Delegates
State House
Annapolis, Maryland 21404
Dear Mr. Speaker:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17, of the Maryland Con-
stitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 6.
This bill clarifies the law relating to the filing of certain reports
or statements with the State Administrative Board of Election Laws
by the treasurers of central committees and political committees.
Senate Bill 509, which was enacted by the General Assembly and
signed by me on May 6, 1971, accomplished the same purpose as House
Bill 6. Moreover, Senate Bill 509 is a more comprehensive bill. Con-
sequently, it is unnecessary for me to sign House Bill 6.
Sincerely,
/s/ Marvin Mandel,
Governor.
