RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARY-
LAND, THAT THE SECRETARY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION IS REQUESTED TO MAKE RECOMMEN-
DATIONS ON THE FEASIBILITY OF A CONNECTION FROM
FRIENDSHIP AIRPORT TO THE PENN CENTRAL TRANS-
PORTATION COMPANY'S METROLINER, AND ON THE
AVAILABILITY OF FEDERAL FUNDS FOR THE CONSTRUC-
TION OF THE CONNECTION, AND OF BUS TRANSPORTA-
TION AND SERVICE ROADS THROUGHOUT THE VICINITY
OF FRIENDSHIP AIRPORT; AND, BE IT FURTHER
RESOLVED, THAT A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION BE SENT
TO THE SECRETARY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPOR-
TATION.

Senate Joint Resolution requesting a study of THAT INFORMA-
TION CONCERNING the effects of mailing unemployment com-
pensation checks to recipients, BE SUPPLIED THE TAXATION
AND FISCAL MATTERS COMMITTEE OF THE LEGISLA-
TIVE COUNCIL.
Whereas, It was deemed advisable to institute a system of mail-
ing unemployment compensation checks; and
Whereas, The purpose of such a procedure was to utilize per-
sonnel and time more efficiently; and
Whereas, This program was also to make it more convenient for
recipients to receive their checks; and
Whereas, This program has been in operation long enough so that
its effects may be measured and evaluated; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the Depart-
ment of Employment Security be and is directed to make a com-
prehensive study of the SUPPLY INFORMATION CONCERNING
check mailing procedure and to determine specifically THE DETER-
MINATION if any economies have been effectuated thereby and if
there has been any rise in the number of claims for unemployment
which is attributable thereto TO THE TAXATION AND FISCAL
MATTERS COMMITTEE OF THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL;
and be it further
Resolved, That copies of this Resolution be sent to the Secretary
of State and to the Director of the Department of Employment
Security.
