CHAPTER 742
(House Bill 1191)

AN ACT to add new Section 49-A to the Code of Public Local Laws
of Charles County (1969 Edition, being Article 9 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Charles County," subtitle
"County Commissioners," subheading "Disposal of Trash," to fol-
low immediately after Section 49 thereof, last amended by Chapter
661 of the Acts of 1963, prohibiting the transportation, disposal, or
disposition of certain waste materials INTO CHARLES COUNTY
WITHOUT A PERMIT FROM THE COUNTY COMMISSION-
ERS AND providing for penalties for violating this prohibition,
and providing a reward for information concerning such violations.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 49-A be and it is hereby added to the Code of
Public Local Laws of Charles County (1969 Edition, being Article 9
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Charles
County," subtitle "County Commissioners," subheading "Disposal of
Trash," to follow immediately after Section 49 thereof, last amended
by Chapter 661 of the Acts of 1963, and to read as follows:

k9-A.

(a)    It shall be unlawful to transport into Charles County, for
purposes of disposal or deposit, any solid waste, including refuse,
garbage, flyash, scrap building products, or by-products of land clear-
ing operations WITHOUT OBTAINING A PERMIT FROM THE
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS FOR SUCH TRANSPORTING, pro-
viding that the hauling of garbage for the feeding of hogs as outlined
in Section 132(b) shall not be unlawful.

(b)    Any person violating the provisions of this section shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be pun-
ished by a fine of not less than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) and
not more than One Thousand Dollars ($1000.00), providing further

that any citizen of Charles County who shall first provide informa-

tion leading to the conviction of any person of a violation of this

section shall be entitled to 50% of the monies collected as penalties

from said violator.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.

and 36(4a) of Article 101 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1970 Supplement), title "Workmen's Compensation," subtitle
