order and place the child in the custody of the parent designated by
the child SHALL HOLD FURTHER HEARINGS AND MAY
AMEND THE DECREE AND PLACE THE CHILD IN THE
CUSTODY OF THE PARENT DESIGNATED BY THE CHILD.
THE PETITIONER SHALL NOT BE REQUIRED TO BE JOINED
IN THIS ACTION BY A GUARDIAN AD LITEM OR A NEXT
FRIEND, BUT MAY FILE THE PETITION ON HIS OWN.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 83 of
Article 100 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Supplement),
title "Work, Labor and Employment," subtitle "Wage and Hour
Law," to exempt certain classes of employees from the provisions
of the Wage and Hour Law in relation to payment for overtime.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 83 of Article 100 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1970 Supplement), title "Work, Labor and Employment," subtitle
"Wage and Hour Law," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
83.
Every employer shall pay to each of his employees, except as may be
provided pursuant to this subtitle, wages at the following rates:
(1) If such employees have been subject to the provisions of the
Maryland Wage and Hour Law, and Section 83 of Article 100 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland prior to June 1, 1967, they shall receive
a wage of not less than $1.15 an hour beginning February 1, 1968,
not less than $1.30 an hour beginning February 1, 1969, not less than
$1.45 an hour beginning February 1, 1970, and not less than $1.60 an
hour beginning February 1, 1971.
(2) All employees as may be subject to the provisions of this
subtitle except those as are included under Section 83(1) of Article
100 of the Annotated Code of Maryland shall receive a wage of not less
than $1.00 an hour from June 1, 1967, not less than $1.15 an hour
beginning June 1, 1968, not less than $1.30 an hour beginning June 1,
1969, not less than $1.45 an hour beginning June 1, 1970, and not less
than $1.60 an hour beginning June 1, 1971.
(3) All employees as may be subject to the provisions of this
subtitle shall receive a wage of one and one-half (1½) times their
usual hourly wage rate for any hours worked in excess of forty (40)
hours during any work week except that this subsection shall not
apply to any employee exempted under section 13 of the Federal
Fair Labor Standards Act 1938, as amended. OF THE FOLLOWING
