Every person for each distribution station operated by him shall
pay a fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00). Every bobtailer shall pay
a fee of fifty dollars ($50.00). Every certified industry fieldman shall
pay a fee of ten dollars ($10.00). ALL FEES, INCLUDING, BUT
NOT LIMITED TO, RENEWAL FEES, RECEIVED PURSUANT
TO THIS SUBTITLE SHALL BE PAID OVER TO THE TREAS-
URER, AND SHALL BECOME GENERAL FUNDS OF THE
STATE.

574.    Milk Dating.

The Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene shall periodically
review the keeping quality of milk and milk products by scientific
shelf-life studies, recognizing the different methods of pasteuriza-
tion, and shall establish, only after public hearings, by regulation
the maximum period during which such designated products may
be offered for sale.

A period of 7 days will be permitted, prior to purchasing or
delivery to the ultimate consumer, provided the designated milk
products are cooled, packaged and stored at 40 degrees F 45° F OR
LESS.

This period or temperature may, only after public hearings, be
further modified by regulation adopted by the Secretary of Health
and Mental Hygiene when substantiated by scientific study.

The last day which such products may be offered for sale shall
be conspicuously marked on the container in a way and manner
prescribed by regulation, adopted after public hearings.

575.    Inspection of Dairy Farm, Producer-Distributor, Transfer Sta-
tion, Receiving Station, Milk Plant, Distribution State STA-
TION, and Bobtailer.

Except as provided in Sections 572 and 580 every dairy farm,
producer-distributor, transfer station, receiving station, milk plant,
distribution station, or bobtailer whose milk products are intended
for human consumption shall be inspected by the Secretary prior to
the issuance of a permit.

When an application has been properly filed by any person; and
the property, buildings and equipment identified in the application
are within the limits of routine inspection by the Secretary; and
the property, buildings, equipment, and operation of same are found
to conform to the regulations of the Secretary; a separate permit
for each property so approved shall be issued forthwith to the appli-
cant. Subsequent inspections shall be made to insure continued ap-
proval for the permit.

Every certified industry fieldman and every milk truck tank opera-
tor must qualify for a permit. The applicant must demonstrate that
he has sufficient knowledge and ability to perform the duties of the
position by meeting the requirements as outlined in the Appendix
of the appropriate Federal Authority Grade A Recommended Pas-
teurized Milk Ordinance.

The Secretary shall certify industry personnel to carry out co-
operatively the provisions of this subtitle or of any rule or regula-
tion issued thereunder with respect to the supervision of dairy farms.
