Volume), title "Public Education," subtitle "Chapter 5. Super-
intendent of Schools," to require the county superintendent of
schools to recommend to traffic safety officials of the State Roads
Commission or the county government appropriate locations for
the posting of flashing caution signs at or near school sites.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 60 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1969 Replacement Volume), title "Public Education," subtitle
"Chapter 5. Superintendent of Schools," be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

60.

The county superintendent of schools shall recommend for con-
demnation school buildings which are unsanitary and unfit for use;
he shall recommend all repairs, the purchase of grounds, school sites
and buildings, or the sale of the same, and shall prepare or cause to
be prepared all plans and specifications for remodeling of old build-
ings, and the construction of new buildings, subject to the provisions
of Section 26 of this article [.]; and he shall recommend to traffic
safety officials of the State Roads Commission or the county govern-
ment appropriate locations at or near the site of the school, of school
construction, or of school condemnation for the posting of flashing
signs indicating the need for caution.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.

CHAPTER 490
(Senate Bill 755)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 15A(d)
of Article 78A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Supple-
ment), title "Public Works," subtitle "Board of Public Works";
and to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 53 of said
Article, Code and title, subtitle "Liens for Unpaid Water or Sew-
age Charges," to correct certain erroneous language therein.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 15A (d) of Article 78A of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1970 Supplement), title "Public Works," subtitle "Board
of Public Works," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments; and that Section 53 of said Article, Code and title,
subtitle "Liens for Unpaid Water or Sewage Charges," be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and both to read
as follows:

15A.

(d) The provisions of this section shall not affect the provisions
of Sections [Section] 15A and 15B of the Code of the Public Local
Laws of Worcester County.
