21.

(n) Unless the context otherwise requires, the following words or
phrases shall have the meaning set opposite them for any and all
purposes of this ordinance:

(1)   "Airport" means any area of land or water, or both, [de-
signed] designated or set aside for the landing and taking off of
aircraft located, in whole or in part, in Anne Arundel County and
owned by the Maryland Airport Authority and the land and improve-
ments comprising Friendship International Airport.

(2)   "Airport hazard" means any structure, tree or use of land
which interferes with communication between an airport and air-
craft approaching or leaving the same or which obstructs the aerial
approaches of an airport or which is otherwise hazardous to its use
for landing or taking off of aircraft.

(3)   "Aircraft" means and includes balloon, airplane, hydroplane,
glider and every other vehicle used for navigation through the air;

(4)   "Landing area" means the area of an airport used for the
landing, taking off and taxiing of aircraft;

(5)   "Nonconforming" means that which does not conform to any
airport zoning regulation or rule, or any amendment thereto, as of
the effective date of such regulation, rule or amendment;

(6)   "Person" means any individual, firm, copartnership, corpora-
tion, company, association, joint stock association or body politic,
and includes any trustee, receiver, committee, assignee or other
similar representative thereof;

(7)   "Structure" means any object or thing constructed, erected,
placed or installed above the surface of the ground, including, but
without limitation, buildings, fences, derricks, haystacks, poles,
wires, towers and smokestacks;

(8)   "Tree" means any object of natural growth.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.

CHAPTER 478
(Senate Bill 617)

AN ACT to add new Section 521 (i) to Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume), title "Crimes and
Punishments," subtitle "Crimes and Punishments," subheading
"Sabbath Breaking," to follow immediately after Section 521 (h)
thereof, to exempt variety and "5 & 10 Cent" stores in St. Mary's
STORES, DRUG STORES, DEALERS IN BOATS AND BOAT-
ING AND FISHING ACCESSORIES, AND MARINAS IN CAL-
VERT County from the general provisions of this section.
