Sections 208 and 60 of Article 48A by providing for taxation of
unauthorized insurers under Section 208 ACCORDING TO THE
PROVISIONS of subtitle 14 "Unauthorized Insurers".

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 60 of Article 48A of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1968 Replacement Volume), title "Insurance Code," subtitle 3, "In-
surers: Authorization and General Requirements," be and it is
hereby amended to add the new subsection (3) to follow immediately
after subsection (2) thereof and to read as follows:

60.

(3) Unauthorized insurers , INCLUDED WITHIN THE PRO-
VISIONS OF SUBTITLE 14 "UNAUTHORIZED INSURERS" shall
report and pay taxes on all policies issued under
ACCORDING TO
THE PROVISIONS OF subtitle 14 "Unauthorized Insurers." other

than such policies as are subject to subtitle 13, "Surplus Lines."

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.

CHAPTER 423

(Senate Bill 278)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 41 of
Article 48A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Replace-
ment Volume) providing for fees for annual renewal of certificate
of authority based on the kinds of insurance business insurers are
authorized to write, and providing generally for fees for Licenses
and Certificates.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 41 of Article 48A of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1968 Replacement Volume) be and the same is hereby repealed and
re-enacted with amendments to read as follows:

41. Fees for Licenses and Certificates.

The Commissioner shall collect in advance, and the persons so
served shall pay the following fees to the Commissioner:

(1) Certificates of Authority:

(i) Application for original certificate of authority: For filing
applications for certificate of authority, articles of incorporation
(except as provided in subsection (2) below) and other charter
documents, bylaws, financial statement, examination report, power
of attorney to the Commissioner, and all other documents and fil-
ings required in connection with such application........................$ 25.00

[Domestic insurers ............................................................................................$ 25.00]

[Foreign insurers...........„......................................................................................$ 25.00]
