the purpose. State game wardens may act as representatives of the
State Fire Marshal in the issuance of such permits to farmers for use
in the control of destructive birds and animals.
25.
If any section or provision of this subtitle is held to be invalid
such invalidity shall not affect the validity or applicability of the
other sections or provisions thereof.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July AUGUST 1, 1970, except that the increase in license fees shall
be effective with the next issued license AND SECTION 21 (a)
SHALL TAKE EFFECT JULY 1, 1970.

AN ACT to add new Section 127A to Article 41 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition, 1965 Replacement Volume, 1969
Supplement), title "Governor-Executive and Administrative De-
partment," subtitle "Department of Parole and Probation," to fol-
low immediately after Section 127 thereof to provide that any per-
son sentenced after July 1, 1970 to the jurisdiction of the Depart-
ment of Correction, and having served his term or terms less
deductions provided for in Article 27, Section 700 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland, shall upon release be deemed to be released on
parole until the expiration of the maximum term for which he was
sentenced, and be subject to all laws, rules, and regulations relating
to parolees. AND TO REPEAL AND RE-ENACT, WITH
AMENDMENTS, SECTION 700(A) OF ARTICLE 27 OF THE
ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND (1967 REPLACEMENT
VOLUME), TITLE "CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS," SUB-
TITLE "III PLACES OF REFORMATION AND PUNISH-
MENT," SUBHEADING "DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTION,"
SUB-SUBHEADING "PRISONERS," TO PROVIDE THAT
PERSONS RELEASED FROM CUSTODY OF THE DEPART-
MENT OF CORRECTIONS SHALL BE DEEMED AS IF RE-
LEASED ON PAROLE.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 127A be added to Article 41 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1957 Edition, 1965 Replacement Volume, 1969 Supple-
ment), title "Governor-Executive and Administrative Department,"
subtitle "Department of Parole and Probation," to follow immedi-
ately after Sections 127, to read as follows:
