Commissioners," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

40.

The County Commissioners of St. Mary's County are hereby au-
thorized to borrow a sum not exceeding one hundred thousand dol-
lars ($100,000.00) for the purpose of the purchase of land for and
construction of an airport in St. Mary's County. The said Com-
missioners may not borrow said sum, or any part thereof, unless,
in addition and at the time, federal and state funds have been com-
mitted to the project for which the proceeds of the loan authorized
hereunder are to be used. The indebtedness incurred as provided
herein shall be repaid over a period of ten (10) years, with interest
[not to exceed five per cent (5%) per annum].

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.

CHAPTER 398
(House Bill 1532)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 39 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of St. Mary's County (1965 Edition,
being Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "St. Mary's County," subtitle "County Commissioners," to
permit the County Commissioners to contribute to patient care
in the nursing home.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 39 of the Code of Public Local Laws of St. Mary's
County (1965 Edition, being Article 19 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "St. Mary's County," subtitle "County
Commissioners" be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with
amendments to read as follows:

39.

For the purposes of acquiring land for and of constructing, equip-
ping and maintaining a nursing home in the county, and for patient
care therein,
the County Commissioners are authorized and em-
powered to use the general funds of the county and are further
authorized to borrow such additional sums as they may deem neces-
sary for such purposes on short term notes from any bank or trust
company in the county and to pledge the credit of the county for
the repayment thereof together with all interest as it becomes due.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.
