(House Bill 926)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 20(k)
of Article 95A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Unemployment Insurance Law," subtitle
"Definitions," to provide for purposes of the Article, that the
word "State" shall mean the states of the United States, the Dis-
trict of "Columbia, and certain territories of the United States.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 20(k) of Article 95A of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1969 Replacement Volume), title "Unemployment Insurance
Law," subtitle "Definitions," be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

20.

(k) "State" includes, in addition to the states of the United
States of America, [Alaska, Hawaii,] and the District of Columbia,
any territory of the United States of America which has enacted an
Unemployment Insurance Law complying with standards pro-
mulgated by the Secretary of Labor of the United States of
America under the terms of the Federal Unemployment Act or Title
HI of the Social Security Acts.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.

CHAPTER 365
(House Bill 951)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 98B,
Subsection (8) (i) of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1968 Replacement Volume and 1969 Supplement), title
"Justices of the Peace," subtitle "Trial Magistrates System," pro-
viding that the State Department of Parole and Probation shall
collect and disburse the earnings of convicted offenders incarcer-
ated at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center on a work
release program.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland-,
That Section 98B(8)(i) of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1968 Replacement Volume and 1969 Supplement), title
"Justices of the Peace," subtitle "Trial Magistrates System," be and it
is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to read as
follows:
