members elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly,
the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

(Senate Bill 455)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 162 (a)
of Article 66½ of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Re-
placement Volume), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle "Unsatisfied
Claim and Judgment Fund," to provide for the proportionate pay-
ment of judgments when three or more qualified claimants sustain
damages in any one accident, and specifically to fill a void in this
section as pointed out by the Court of Appeals of Maryland in
Goad v. Fisher, No. 401, September Term, 1968.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 162 (a) of Article 66½ of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume), title "Motor Vehicles," sub-
title "Unsatisfied Claim and Judgment Fund," be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
162.
(a) The maximum amounts payable from the Fund shall be
fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000.00) exclusive of interest and costs,
on account of injury to, or death of, one person in any one accident;
subject to such limit for any one person so injured or killed, thirty
thousand dollars ($30,000.00), exclusive of interest and costs, on
account of injury to, or death of, more than one person, in any one
accident; and five thousand dollars ($5,000.00), exclusive of interest
and costs, for damages to property in any one accident. Where
there are three or more qualified claimants, the Court OR COURTS
shall order payments arising under either Section 160 or Section 172
on a pro rata basis.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.

AN ACT to authorize the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to
create a debt, and to issue and sell its certificates of indebtedness
as evidence thereof, to an amount not exceeding five million seven
hundred thousand dollars ($5,700,000.00), the proceeds derived
