19.
(a) Jurors in Washington County shall receive eight dollars per
day and a reasonable amount, in the discretion of the County Com-
missioners for each mile over five miles in going to and returning
from court; in Queen Anne's [and Caroline counties] County, seven
dollars and fifty cents per day; in Anne Arundel, Caroline, Harford,
Kent, Montgomery, Somerset and Talbot counties, and in
Baltimore City, ten dollars per day, and no extra allowance shall be
given either for mileage or overtime in Anne Arundel, Caroline,
Harford, Montgomery, Somerset and Talbot counties and in Balti-
more City; in Carroll County, eight dollars per day; and in all other
counties, except Allegany, Baltimore, Calvert, Charles, Frederick,
Garrett, Harford, Howard, Prince George's, St. Mary's and Wicomico
counties, five dollars per day for each and every day they shall attend
the several courts of this State as jurors and fifteen cents for each
mile over five miles for going to and returning from the court, once
in each term, to be paid by the counties, respectively, in which
courts are held. In Baltimore County, jurors shall receive per diem
compensation in such amount as shall be set, from time to time, by
the judges of the Circuit Court of Baltimore County. Jurors in
Frederick County shall receive at least eight dollars per day for each
and every day they shall attend the Circuit Court of Frederick
County as jurors and a reasonable amount in the discretion of the
County Commissioners, for each mile going to and returning from
the court.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 171 of
Article 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Dorchester County
(1961 Edition, being Article 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland), title "Dorchester County," subtitle "County Com-
missioners and Treasurer," to allow besides the Clerk to the Board
of County Commissioners such persons as designated by the Board
of County Commissioners to countersign checks.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 171 of Article 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Dorchester County (1961 Edition, being Article 10 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Dorchester County," sub-
title "County Commissioners and Treasurer," be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

The said treasurer shall report to the County Commissioners, at
their first regular meeting in each month, the amount of taxes,
