agency appropriation.

From Special and Federal Funds,
for payments required as a re-
sult of cost of living adjustment.
Authorization is hereby granted
to use Special and Federal Funds
for this purpose, in the amount
of $2,216,000 to be payable out
of revenues and grants which
are the source of funds for the
payment of budget appropria-
tions payable out of Special and
Federal Funds; this amount be-
ing estimated and it being the
intent that the actual amount,
whether it be more or less, shall
be made available in allocating
by budget amendment to the
various State agencies the
amounts necessary to supple-
ment the appropriations.

In addition to the salary
amounts provided for police
employees under Chapter 169 of
the Acts of 1969, salaries for
police employees of the Depart-
ment of Maryland State Police
are to be increased by 4% for
rank I (Trooper) through rank
VIII (Captain) and by 3% for
rank IX (Major) and above,
except that the Superinten-
dent's salary shall be as set in
the detail of this Supplemental
Budget.
