84. (Effect of Charter on Existing Ordinances.) (a) All ordi-
nances, resolutions, rules, and regulations in effect in the Town at the
time this Charter becomes effective which are not in conflict with the
provisions of this Charter shall remain in effect until changed or repealed
according to the provisions of this Charter.
(b) All ordinances, resolutions, rules, and regulations in effect in
the Town at the time this Charter becomes effective which are in conflict
with the provisions of this Charter be and the same hereby are repealed
to the extent of such conflict.
85. (Separability.) If any section or part of section of this Charter
shall be held invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, such holding
shall not affect the remainder of this Charter nor the context in which
such section or part of section so held invalid shall appear, except to
the extent that an entire section or part of section may be inseparably
connected in meaning and effect with the section or part of section to
which such holding shall directly apply.
Section 2. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the date of the
adoption of this Resolution is March 24, 1969, that a complete and ex-
act copy of this Resolution shall be posted in the Town office through
May 3, 1969 and that a copy of the title of this Resolution shall be
published in a newspaper of general circulation in Church Hill not less
than four (4) times, at weekly intervals before May 3, 1969.
Section 3. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that at the time
the charter amendment hereby adopted shall become effective, the Pres-
ident of the Commissioners of Church Hill shall cause the same to be
registered with the Secretary of State of Maryland and with the Depart-
ment of Legislative Reference in accordance with the provisions of Sec-
tion 17(f) of Article 23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957
Edition, as amended).

A Resolution to repeal and re-enact with amendments Article XII,
Section 45, of the Charter of the City of College Park, Maryland,
titled "Deductions for Persons Over Sixty-Five (65) Years of Age,"
and to substitute in lieu thereof Article XII, Section 45, titled "De-
ductions For Certain Property Owners," allowing property tax de-
ductions for certain persons who receive disability benefits under the
Social Security Act, in addition to certain persons over sixty-five (65)
years of age.
