Section 5. That this Resolution and Amendment rescind Sections 4,
15, and 31 purportedly enacted on March 13, 1963 to become effective on
May 2, 1963.

Resolution enlarging the corporate boundaries of the City of Bowie
by annexing land contiguous and adjoining the existing corporate
area.
Whereas, the Council of the City of Bowie, a Municipal Corporation
of the State of Maryland, has determined to enlarge and extend the limits
of the City of Bowie by including therein a part of Prince George's County
contiguous and adjoining thereto in accordance with the procedure set
forth in Section 19 of Articles 23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition and Amendments), said Article being titled, "Corporations—
Municipal", Section 19 being a subheading, "Annexation"; and
Whereas, the proposal for change was consented to by the owners of
real property located in the area to be annexed, there being no persons
residing in the area to be annexed; and
Whereas, the Council of the City of Bowie has determined to initiate
a resolution, based on the aforementioned consent to enlarge and extend
the limits of the City of Bowie to include the hereinafter described area
and to make applicable to that area all laws of the State of Maryland
applicable to the City of Bowie and all existing charter provisions and
ordinances of the City which are now in force or may be hereafter
enacted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bowie, Maryland, in regular session assembled;
Section 1. That there is hereby annexed to the territory of the City
of Bowie, a Municipal Corporation, all of the land contiguous and adjoining
to the existing City of Bowie in Prince George's County, Maryland, de-
scribed as follows:
Beginning at an iron pipe found on the southerly side of National
Defense Highway, said pipe being the northeast corner of the Kaufman
25,310 square foot parcel, and running thence with the southerly side of
said highway N 57°43' E 191.91 feet to an iron pipe, thence leaving the
road and running thru the tract S 29°44' E 266.76 feet to an iron pipe set
in the southern outline, thence with part of said outline S 87°39' W
213.08 feet to an iron pipe found, the southeast corner of said Kaufman
parcel, thence with the eastern line of said parcel N 39°38' W 160.24 feet
to the beginning containing 40,605 square feet or 0.9322 acres, according
to a survey by Thomas E. Latimer & Co., Surveyors; and being a part of
the same property acquired by the party of the first part by deed dated
March 10, 1931 and recorded in liber 361 at folio 38.
