House Bill No. 955—Criminal Injuries Compensation Act

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
6(b) of Article 26A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Sup-
plement), title "Criminal Injuries Compensation Act," amending the
criminal injuries compensation act to increase the time limit for filing
of claims.

May 26, 1970.

Honorable Thomas Hunter Lowe
Speaker of the House of Delegates
State House
Annapolis, Maryland

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17, of the Maryland Con-
stitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 955.

This bill amends a section of the Criminal Injuries Compensation
Act so as to increase the time limit for filing of claims.

The identical amendment to the Criminal Injuries Compensation
Act was accomplished by Senate Bill 395, which was enacted by the
General Assembly and signed by me on May 5, 1970. Consequently,
it is unnecessary for me to sign House Bill 955.

Sincerely,

/s/ Marvin Mandel,

Governor.
