Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.

CHAPTER 699
(House Bill 492)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 114 and
119 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Calvert County (1963
Edition), to raise the yearly salaries of the President and each
of the other two members of the County Commission to four
thousand dollars ($4,000.00) and three thousand dollars ($3,-
000.00), respectively, and to require one monthly night meeting
in addition to the regular day meetings.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 114 and 119 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Calvert County (1963 Edition), be and they are hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

114.

There shall be three County Commissioners for Calvert County.
The chairman of the Board shall receive an annual salary of [two
thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500.00)] four thousand dollars
($4,000.00),
and each of the associate members of the Board
shall receive an annual salary of [two thousand dollars ($2,000.00)]
three thousand dollars ($3,000.00); and none shall receive any extra
allowance either for expenses or for any other purpose.

119.

Said County Commissioners shall attend at the office of the Board
of County Commissioners of Calvert County each and every Tuesday
from 10 A.M. to 3 P.M. In addition, they shall conduct a night
meeting, beginning at 8 P.M., open to the public, on the second
Tuesday of every month; if that day is a holiday, such meeting shall
be held at the nearest convenient time, to be determined by the
Commissioners.
Said clerk shall attend at said office for the trans-
action of the business thereof every day, except Sundays and legal
holidays, from nine o'clock in the forenoon to four o'clock in the
afternoon, unless prevented by sickness, accident or necessity.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of this
Act shall not be construed to extend or apply to the salaries of the
Commissioners of Calvert County in office on the effective date of
this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the salaries of
said Commissioners shall take effect at the beginning of the next
following term of office.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.
