Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 210E (a) AND SECTIONS 210-I (B) AND (D) of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Wicomico County (1965 Edition, being
Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title
"Wicomico County," subtitle "People's Court of Wicomico County,"
as added, last amended by Chapter 750 of the Acts of 1966, be and
it is THEY ARE hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:

210E.

(a) The Chief Judge of the Court shall receive an annual salary
in the amount of [fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000.00)] seventeen
thousand five hundred dollars ($17,500.00).
The substitute judge
shall receive an annual salary in the amount of two thousand five
hundred dollars ($2,500.00). The Chief Judge may require the sub-
stitute judge to sit on the said court up to fifty (50) days annually;
and with the consent of the County Council, the Chief Judge may
require the substitute judge to sit on the court in excess of 50 days
annually. The substitute judge shall receive in addition to his regular
compensation, the sum of fifty dollars ($50.00) for each day in
excess of 50 days on which he sits on the court in any year.

210-I.

(B) THERE SHALL BE THREE (3) COMMITTING MAGIS-
TRATES FOR THE PEOPLE'S COURT OF WICOMICO COUNTY,
ONE OF WHOM SHALL BE DESIGNATED AS THE CHIEF
COMMITTING MAGISTRATE WHO SHALL RESIDE WITHIN
THE BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF SALISBURY AND THE
OTHER TWO OF WHOM SHALL BE DESIGNATED AS ASSO-
CIATE COMMITTING MAGISTRATES, EACH OF WHOM
SHALL RESIDE WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF WICOMICO
COUNTY.

(D) FROM AND AFTER [MAY 1, 1967] JULY 1, 1970, THE
TWO ASSOCIATE COMMITTING MAGISTRATES SHALL RE-
CEIVE AN ANNUAL SALARY IN THE AMOUNT OF TWELVE
HUNDRED DOLLARS ($1,200.00), WHICH MAY BE SUPPLE-
MENTED FROM TIME TO TIME BY AND IN THE DISCRE-
TION OF THE COUNTY COUNCIL, AND FROM AND AFTER
JULY 1, 1970, THE CHIEF COMMITTING MAGISTRATE SHALL
RECEIVE AN ANNUAL SALARY IN THE AMOUNT OF FIF-
TEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS ($1,500.00), WHICH MAY BE
SUPPLEMENTED FROM TIME TO TIME BY AND IN THE
DISCRETION OF THE COUNTY COUNCIL.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.
