subtitle "Subtitle VIII, Creditors' Claims"; Sections 9-101, 9-105 and
9-109 subtitle "Subtitle IX, Special Provisions Relating to Distribu-
tion"; Section 10-101, subtitle "Subtitle X, Closing Estates"; and
Section 12-102(i), subtitle "Subtitle XII, Effective Date and Ap-
plicability," of Article 93 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969
Replacement Volume), title "Decedents' Estates," be and they are
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments; and to add THAT
new Section 5-501A be and it is hereby added to Article 93 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1969 Replacement
Volume), title "Decedents' Estates," subtitle "Subtitle V, Opening
the Estate," subheading "Part 5, Foreign Personal Representatives,"
to follow immediately after Section 5-501 thereof, and also to add
THAT new Section 9-112 be and it is hereby added to Article 93 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1969 Replacement
Volume), title "Decedents' Estates," subtitle "Subtitle IX, Special
Provisions Relating to Distribution," to follow immediately after

Section 9-111; and to repeal Section 5 of the Article 46 of the An-

notated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1965 Replacement
Volume), title "Inheritance," subtitle "Descents"; Section 162 of

Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Replacement
Volume), title "Revenue and Taxes," subtitle "Inheritance Tax," sub
-

heading "In General"; and Section 7-405 of Article 93 of the An-

notated Code of Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume), title Deced-
ents' Estates," subtitle "VII, Administration of Estate," subheading
"Part 4, Powers of Personal Representative," and 9-110 of Article 93

of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1969 Re-
placement Volume), title "Decedents' Estates," subtitle "Subtitle IX,
Special Provisions Relating to Distribution," be and it is hereby
repealed, and all to read as follows:
SECTION 9-111 THEREOF;
AND ALL TO READ AS FOLLOWS:

1-102.

When a writing is required by this article to be verified, verifica-
tion shall be sufficient if the writing is signed by the person required
to make the verification and contains the following representation:

I do solemnly declare and affirm under the penalties of perjury that
the contents of the foregoing document are true and correct to the
best of my knowledge, information and belief.

All inventories, accounts, and other documents containing recita-
tions of fact must be verified.

1-103.

Unless personal service or notice by publication is expressly re-
quired in this article or by the Maryland Rules, the first notice
required or permitted to be given to any person under this article
shall be sufficient if deposited as registered or certified mail, postage
prepaid, return receipt requested, addressed to the addressee at the
address last known to the sender, with delivery restricted to the
