11-903. Manslaughter (OMITTED) by vehicle.
Every person causing the death of another as the result of the
driving, operation, or control of an automobile, motor vehicle, lo-
comotive, engine, car, street car, train, or other vehicle, in a grossly
negligent manner, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor to be known as
"manslaughter by automobile, motor vehicle, locomotive, engine, car,
street car, train, or other vehicle," and the person so convicted shall
be guilty of a misdemeanor.
§ 11-904. Fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer.
Any driver of a motor vehicle who wilfully fails or refuses to bring
his vehicle to a stop, or who otherwise flees or attempts to elude a
pursuing police vehicle, when given visual or audible signal to bring
the vehicle to a stop, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. The signal
given by the police officer may be by hand, voice, emergency light,
or siren. The officer giving the signal shall be in uniform, promi-
nently displaying his badge OR OTHER INSIGNIA of office, and his
vehicle shall be appropriately marked showing it to be an official
police vehicle.
Part X—Stopping, Standing and Parking
§ 11-1001. Stopping, standing or parking outside of business or
residence districts.
(a) Upon any highway outside of a business or residence dis-
trict no person shall stop, park, or leave standing any vehicle,
whether attended or unattended, upon the roadway of the highway
when it is practicable to stop, park, or so leave the vehicle off that
part of the highway, but in every event an unobstructed width of the
highway opposite a standing vehicle shall be left for the free passage
of other vehicles, and a clear view of any stopped vehicle shall be
available from a distance of 200 feet in each direction upon the high-
way.
(b) This section shall not apply to the driver of any vehicle
which is UNINTENTIONALLY disabled while on the roadway of a
highway in a manner and to an extent that it is impossible to avoid
stopping and temporarily leaving the disabled vehicle in that position.
§ 11-1002. Omitted. ABANDONMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLE.
ANY PERSON WHO ABANDONS A MOTOR VEHICLE ON
ANY PUBLIC PROPERTY OR ON ANY PROPERTY OTHER
THAN HIS OWN WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF THE
OWNER OR LESSEE OF SUCH PROPERTY IS GUILTY OF A
MISDEMEANOR.
§ 11-1002.1. Officers authorized to remove abandoned and illegally
stopped or parked vehicles.
A police department may take into custody any motor vehicle found
abandoned. For this purpose, a police department may employ its
own personnel, equipment, and facilities or hire persons, equipment,
and facilities for removing, preserving, and storing abandoned motor
vehicles.
