apprehend him by warrant, the department shall attach a notation
of this failure to appear to his driving record and to his application
for renewal or reinstatement, and he shall not be entitled to a re-
newal or reinstatement of his driver's license until he has answered
the warrant and appeared for trial.

Part IICancellation, Refusal, Suspension or
Revocation of Licenses.

§ 6-201. Authority of department to cancel license.

(a)    The department may cancel any license upon determining
that the licensee was not entitled to the issuance thereof or that
he failed to give the required or correct information in his application
or committed fraud in making the application or in obtaining the
license.

(b)    Upon the cancellation, the licensee must immediately sur-
render the cancelled license to the department.

§ 6-202. Suspending privileges of nonresidents and reporting con-
victions.

(a)    The privilege of driving a motor vehicle on the highways
of this State given to a nonresident hereunder is subject to refusal,
suspension, or revocation by the department in like manner and for
like cause as a license issued hereunder may be refused, suspended,
or revoked.

(b)    The department upon receiving a record of the conviction
in this State of a nonresident driver of a motor vehicle of any offense
under the motor vehicle laws of this State, may forward a certified
copy of the record to the motor vehicle administrator in the state
wherein the person convicted is a resident.

§ 6-203. Suspending resident's license upon conviction in another
state.

(a)    The department may refuse, suspend, or revoke the license
of any resident of this State or the privilege of a nonresident to drive
a motor vehicle in this State upon receiving notice of the conviction
of the person in another state of an offense therein which, if com-
mitted in this State, would be ground for the refusal, suspension, or
revocation of the license.

(b)    In any such case the licensee may request a hearing, and
the department shall thereupon hold a hearing to determine if the
refusal, suspension, or revocation of his license would be an unjust
action upon the licensee. Following the hearing, the department may
approve, reject, or modify the refusal, suspension, or revocation of
license. If the department reverses the refusal, suspension, or re-
vocation of license, the record of the refusal, suspension or revocation
shall be expunged. If the department modifies the refusal or revoca-
tion, the record of the licensee shall be modified accordingly.

§ 6-204. Omitted.

§ 6-204.1. Meaning of "conviction."

For the purposes of this subtitle the term "conviction" means a
final conviction. Also, for the purposes of this subtitle an unvacated
