after, the Board of Public Works shall certify to the governing
bodies of each of the counties and Baltimore City the rate of State
tax on each One Hundred Dollars ($100) of assessable property neces-
sary to produce revenue to meet ALL interest and principal which will
be payable to the close of the next ensuing taxable year on all cer-
tificates theretofore issued or heretofore authorized by resolution
of the Board of Public Works to be issued and the governing bodies
of each of the counties and Baltimore City shall forthwith levy
and collect such tax at such rate.

Sec. 7. And be it further enacted, That all matters committed by
this Act to the discretion of the Board of Public Works shall be
determined by a majority of said Board.

Sec. 8. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1970.

CHAPTER 505
(House Bill 1073)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 108(a)
of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition,
1965 Replacement Volume, 1969 Supplement), title "Governor-
Executive and Administrative Departments," subtitle "Board of
Parole," to increase the membership of the Board of Parole from
five to seven and to provide for the duration of the terms of the
additional members thereof.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 108(a) of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition, 1965 Replacement Volume, 1969 Supplement),
title "Governor-Executive and Administrative Departments," sub-
title "Board of Parole," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

108.

(a) A Board of Parole, hereinafter referred to as the "Board,"
is hereby established. It is composed of a chairman and [four] six
associate members. The members are appointed for terms of eight
years each by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the
Senate of Maryland. From time to time the Governor shall designate
the chairman of the Board. Of the members initially appointed as of
January 1,1969, the chairman is appointed for a term of eight years,
and the associate members for terms of six, five, four and two years
respectively, and thereafter all terms are for eight years each. The
original term of office of one of the members of the Board of Parole
whose office is established on June 1, 1970, shall commence on June
1, 1970 and shall expire on the January 1, 1972, and the original
term of office of the other members of the Board of Parole whose
office is established on June 1, 1970 and shall expire January 1, 1976.
Thereafter, the terms of office of the members of the Board of Parole
established on June 1, 1970 shall be eight years.
