VOTE AMONG THEM, TO BE CAST BY THE PRESIDENT OF
THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OR HIS DE-
SIGNEE. Additionally, the Maryland Department of Economic De-
velopment and the Maryland State Planning Department, shall each
be represented on the Council by one non-voting member.

(a) There is hereby established a tri-county body to be known as
the Tri-County Council for Southern Maryland to represent the
counties of Calvert, Charles and St. Mary's. Membership in the
Council will consist of the State Senators and Delegates representing
Calvert, Charles and St. Mary's Counties in addition to [four addi-
tional members from each county to be elected by the Council
and to include a representative of the County Commissioners of the
County Planning and Zoning Commission and of the County Eco-
nomic Development Commission] six additional members from each
county to include three County Commissioners, a member of the
County Planning and Zoning Commission, a member of the County
Economic Development Commission and a member at large. THE
THREE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SHALL HAVE BUT ONE
VOTE AMONG THEM, TO BE CAST BY THE PRESIDENT OF
THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OR HIS DE-
SIGNEE. Additionally, the Maryland Department of Economic De-
velopment and the Maryland State Planning Department shall each
be represented on the Council by one non-voting member.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 123A of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Calvert County (1963 Edition,
being Article 5 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "Calvert County," subtitle "County Commissioners," as last
amended by Chapter 584 of the Acts of 1966; to repeal and re-
enact, with amendments, Section 56 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Charles County (1969 Edition, being Article 9 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Charles County,"
subtitle "County Commissioners," subheading "Miscellaneous Ap-
propriations," to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
41 of the Code of Public Local Laws of St. Mary's County (1968
Supplement, being Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "St. Mary's County," subtitle "County Commis-
sioners," to change the name of the "Tri-County Committee for
Community Action" and to provide for more flexibility in the pur-
poses of the Council by redefining their functions.
