Kent County afd upon their Oath do present that Joseph
Thomas late of Saint pauls Parish in the County afd Labourer
the first day of August Anno Domini seventeen hundred thirty &
eight at the parish afd in the County afd and within the Jurisdiction
of this County with force and Arms a Necklace of the Value of three
Shillings Current money of Maryland of the goods and Chattles
of Harford Farmer then and there being found then and there
feloniously did Steal take and bear away Contrary to the
peace if the said Lord propry his good rule and governmt

On the Back of the afd Indictiment was Indorsed as fol.
                 Ignoramus       pr John Brown form.
Ordered by this Court here that the afd Joseph give
Security for the Fees Accrueing on the premisses afd
to the Severall Officers of this Court
Thereupon Joseph Thomas and Francis Jones of
Kent County and present here in Court in their proper
persons Acknowledgeth themselves Indebted unto his
Lordship the right honourable the Lord propry in the
sum of five hundred pounds of tobacco each to be made
and Leveyed on his body goods and Chattles Lands &
Tenements for the use of his said Lordship his heirs &
Successors With Condition to this Recognizance that
he the said Joseph do pay the Fees Accrueing on the
Premisses afd to the Officers of this Court Then this
Recognizance to be Void Else to remain in full force
in Law
And now here to wit at Kent County afd at the Court
house in the Town of Chester in said County on the third
Tuesday of August being the fifteenth day of said
