SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 246 of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "Health", sub-title "Commissioners of Phar-
macy", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

246. The salaries of said Board except the secretary-treasurer
shall be [$10.00] $20.00 per day for each member, for each and
every day upon which he is engaged upon the duties of the Board
and all legitimate expenses incurred in the discharge of his official
duties. The secretary-treasurer of the said Board shall receive a
salary to be fixed by the Board, and not to exceed [Seven Hundred
and Fifty] One Thousand Dollars per annum; and all legitimate
expenses incurred in the discharge of his official duties. He shall
pay to the comptroller such funds of the Board as may be in his
possession, and take a receipt therefor. In its annual report to the
Governor, the Board shall render an account of all moneys received
and expenses incurred pursuant herewith, and the secretary-treas-
urer shall give such bonds as the Board shall from time to time
direct.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

CHAPTER 434
(Senate Bill 291)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 115 (a)
and (b) of Article 66 1/2 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951
Edition), title "Motor Vehicles", sub-title "Motor Vehicle Finan-
cial Responsibility", relating to the types of rented vehicles for
which financial responsibility must be posted prior to their regis-
tration in this State.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 115 (a) and (b) of Article 66 1/2 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Motor Vehicles", sub-title
"Motor Vehicle Financial Responsibility", be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

115. (for Rent Motor Vehicles.) (a) It shall be unlawful for
any person to engage in the business of renting to others, any
motor vehicle, trailer or semi-trailer without a driver, until such
person shall first notify the Department of his intention to engage
in the aforesaid business.

(b) The Department shall not register any motor vehicle, trailer
or semi-trailer
to be so rented, unless and until the person owning
