the afd. Joshua Taylor should be therein convict that then he the said Joshua Taylor should pay and satisfy unto the afd. Stephen the
Judgement of the court thereupon or render his body in Execution of such Judgement to the prison of the sheriff of somerset
county in satisfaction thereof or that he the said Nathan Culver will do the same for him &c         And hereupon the afd. Joshua Taylor
puts in his place William Hayward Gent Attorney at Law against the afd. Stephen Bounds of the afd. plea
And hereupon at the prayer of the parties afd. Day is to them now here given until next court to be held at princess Ann
Town the third tuesday of August then next following in the state that now saveing to the parties &c
        Att which day here came the parties afd. by their Attorneys afd. and hereupon the afd. Stephen Bounds complai
-ned against the afd. Joshua Taylor in the plea afd. in form following       Somerset Joshua Taylor late of somerset
county planter was attached to answer unto Stephen Bounds of a plea of trespass upon the case & so forth
And Whereupon the said Stephen by Littleton Dennis his Attorney complains that whereas the said Joshua the xx Day of
Janry Anno Dom. MDCCLX at the county afsd was Indebted unto the said Stephen in the sum of Four pounds current
money of Maryland for so much money by the said Joshua before that time had and received to the use of the said Stephen Bo
unds and so thereof Indebted being the said Joshua in consideration thereof afterwards to witt the same day & Year afsd at the
county afsd upon himself assumed & to the said Stephen then & there faithfully promised that he the said Joshua the sum of money afsd
when he should be thereto afterwards required unto the said Stephen well & faithfully would pay & Content Nevertheless the
said Joshua his promise and assumption afsd in form afsd made Little Regarding but minding and fraudulently Intending the said
Stephens in that part craftily and subtilly to deceive and defraud the sum of money afsd unto the said Stephen hath not pair or him for
the same in any sort contented (altho the same to do the same Joshua afterwards to wit the same day and year afsd & often since
at the county afsd. by the said Stephens was required) but the same to him to pay hitherto altogether hath refused & still
doth refuse & unjustly deny Whereupon the said Stephen says he is worse & hath damage to the Value of Ten pounds current
money of Maryland & thereof he brings Suit & so forth                                                 J Doe & R Roe Pledges of prosg
        And hereupon the afd. Joshua Taylor by his Attorney afd. comes and defends the force & Injury when &c and prays leave
thereof to Imparle here until next court to be held at princess Ann Town the third tuesday of November then next follo
wing and he hath it and the same day is given to the afd. Stephen Bounds here also &c
           Att which day here came as well the afd. Stephen Bounds as the afd. Joshua Taylor by their Attorneys afd. and
hereupon the afd. Joshua Taylor prays further leave thereof to Imparle here until next court to be held at princess Ann Town the
third tuesday of March then next following and he hath it and the same day is given to the afd. Joshua here also &c
           Att which day here came as well the afd. Stephen Bounds as the afd. Joshua Taylor by their Attorneys afd. and here
upon the afd. Joshua Prays further Leave thereof to Imparle here until next court to be held at princess Ann Town the
third tuesday of June then next following and he hath it and the same day is given to the afd. Stephen here also &c
           Att which day here came as well the afd. Stephen Bounds as the afd. Joshua Taylor by their Attorneys afd. and
hereupon the afd. Joshua Taylor prays further leave thereof to Imparle here until next court to be held at princess Ann Town the
third tuesday of August then next following and he hath it and the same day is given to the afd. Stephen here also &c
           Att which day here came as well the afd. Stephen Bounds as the afd. Joshua Taylor by their Attorneys afd. and here
-upon the afd. Joshua prays further leave thereof to Imparle here until next court to be held at princess Ann Town the third tues
-day of November then next following and he hath it and the same day is given to the afd. Stephen here also &c
             Att which day here came as well the afd. Stephen Bounds as the afd. Joshua Taylor by their Attorneys afd.
and hereupon the afd. Joshua as before defends the force and injury when &c and saith that he cannot deny the action
afd. of the afd. Stephen Bounds nor but that he did assume upon himself in manner and form as the afd. Stephen Bounds above
against him hath complained and as to the damage of the same Stephen by him by occasion of the premisses in that part sus
-tained the same Joshua Taylor saith and acknowledgeth that the afd. Stephen hath sustained Damages by occasion of the
premisses beyond his costs and charges by him about his suit in that part Opposed to four pounds Curt Money and not more
and because the afd. Stephen Denies not this but the same Allegation grants to be true prays Judgement for these Dama
ges above acknowledged together with his costs and charges to him to be adjudged &c         Therefore by consent of the
parties afd. it is considered that the afd. Stephen Bounds recover against the afd. Joshua Taylor his damages afd. to the afd. four
pounds by the afd. Joshua in form afd. acknowledged as also
        pounds of Tobacco for his costs and charges afd. to the same Stephen Bounds at his request by the court now here of the assent
of the parties afd. adjudged which certain Damages in the whole amount to four pounds Curt Money and
                  pounds of Tobacco and the afd. Joshua in Mercy &c

@    Somerset to wit The Jurors for his Lordship the Right Honrble the Lord propry that now is for the Body of somer
Randal Long    -set county Upon their Oath present that Randal Long Late of Coventry parish in the county afd. planter on the xxx
day of June in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty one at the parish afd. in the county afd. did commit fornication
with a certain Neomy Kelsick and a bastard Child on the body of the said Naomy then and there did beget to the high displeasure of
