Goldsborough, Isaac Handy Sampson Wheatly, Joseph Gillis, Ephraim Wilson, Samuel Adams, William Winder Ephraim King, George Gale Jur., Thomas Jones, John Dennis Ser, Thomas Holbrook and Planner Williams or Any three or more of of You as afd. to Issue out Writts precepts process and Attachments and hold plea of all Actions popular and of all Actions personal of What sort Soever wherein the Demand doth not Exceed the Sum of One hundred pounds Sterling or thirty thousand pounds of Tobacco and all Actions personall now Depending before you & after Judgment Execution to Award in all Such Cases and Actions afd. According to the Laws Customs and directions of the Acts of Assembly afd. So far forth as they provide and Where they are Silent According to the Laws Statutes and Reasonable Customs of England as used and practised within this province in which Said Actions so to be tried we do Constitute Ordain and Appoint You the Said Benjamin Tasker Charles Hammond, Samuel Chamberlain, Phillip Thomas, Edward Lloyd, Richard Lee, Benedict Calvert, Robert Jenkins Henry, Daniel Dulany, Stephen Bordly, John Ridout Charles Goldsborough, Isaac Handy, Sampson Wheatly, Joseph Gillis, Ephraim Wilson, Samuel Adams, Wm. Winder Ephraim King George Gale Jur. Thomas Jones, John Dennis Senr. Thomas Holbrook, and Planner Williams and none Others to be Judges Also by these presents we do Command the Sheriff of our Said County of Somerset that at the Several Courts to be held for our Said County he Give his Attendance and Cause to Come before you or Any three or More of You as afd. Such and So Many Good and Lawfull men of his Bailywick out of Each and Every hundred thereof by Whom the truth of the Matter in the premisses may be the better known and Enquired of Lastly You Shall Cause to be brought before you at Your Said Courts all Writs precepts process and Indictments to Your Courts and Jurisdiction belonging that the Same may be Inspected and by due Course of Law determined Witness Our trusty and well beloved Horatio Sharpe Esqr. Lieutenant General and Chief Governor of our Said Province of Maryland this first day of October in the Twelfth Year of our Dominion &c. Annoque Domini 1762 {Seal} Horatio Sharpe On the Back of the foregoing Commission was As follows Vizt Maryland fst Frederick Absolute Lord and Proprietary of the Provinces of Maryland and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &c. To Benedict Calvert, Robert Jenckins Henry, Daniel Dulany Stephen Bordly, John Ridout, and Charles Goldsborough Esquires, Ephraim King, George Gale Jur. Thomas Jones, John Dennis Ser. Thomas Holbrook and Planner Williams of Somerset County Gentlemen Greeting we do hereby Authorize and Impower you or Either of you to Administer the Severall Oaths Appointed by Act of Assembly to be taken to the Government as also the Oath of Judge or Justice to Benjamin Tasker, Charles Hammond, Samuel Chamberlain, Phillip Thomas Edward Lloyd and Richard Lee Esqr. Isaac Handy, Sampson Wheatly, Joseph Gillis, Ephraim Wilson Samuel Adams and William Winder of the Same County Gentlemen or Any of them and You the Said Benjamin Tasker, Charles Hammond, Samuel Chamberlain, Phillip Thomas Edward Lloyd Richard Lee, Isaac Handy, Sampson Wheatly, Joseph Gillis, Ephraim Wilson, Samuel Adams and William Winder or Any of You having taken the Said Oaths are hereby Impowered to Administer the Same to the Justices and Commissioners Respectively as they are Nominated in the within Commission And we will that You and Every of you having taken the Said Oaths do Severally Subscribe the test and Oath of Abjuration and for So doing this Shall be your Sufficient Warrant and Authority hereof fail not and When you have the Same So done You are to Certifie the Same Under Your hands and Seals to us in our high Court of Chancery with all Convenient Speed Witness Our trusty and Well beloved Horatio Sharpe Esqr.
