Whereupon the Court being Called Sat as above proceeded to Business in Manner following
Proclamation being made the Sheriff of Somerset County Returned
a pannell of Grand Jurors to Inquire &c. to witt James Polk, Aaron Sterling, Nicholas Evans, Noble Tull,
Jessey Dashiell, George Wails, Wm. Roberts, Isaac Atkinson, Samuell Curtis, Samuel Jones, Hugh Porter
Nehemiah Turpon, Isaac Holland, William Furnace, Michael Dorman, Henry Miles, John Jones, James
Curtis, Chris Piper, Wm. Hath and Stacey Miles who being Severally Called Over by their Names do Appear
as above and were Sworn and Charged and Sent out to Consider Soon after the Grand Jurors afd. So as afd. Impannelled
Charged and Sworn Returned here into Court and being again Severally Called Over Returned to the Court here
the following Indictments and Presentments Against Martha Mongar, Wm. Kinney and Mary Jones Indictments Against
Michael Owens, Wm. Roach, Wm. Baly, Joseph Hall, Betty Gallander, John Wilson, John Starling and William
Cottingham Thereupon the Grand Jurors afd. Are discharged and Allowed four hundred pounds of tobacco
to be Levied this Levey Court and that Against Martha Mongar, Wm. Kinney & mary Jones Wm. Baly & Joseph
Hall So as afd. Presented and Indicted it is ordered that Capias Issue Returnable to March Court next &c

Williams of Somerset County Gentlemen Greeting Know ye that we have Assigned You and Every of You,
Joyntly and Severally our Justices to keep our peace in this our County of Somerset and to do Equal Law and
Right to all the Kings Subjects Rich and Poor According to the Laws Customs and directions of the Acts of
Assembly of this Province So far forth as they Provide and Where they are Silent According to the Laws Statutes
and Reasonable Customs of England as used and practised within this Province for the Conservation of the
peace and Quiet Rule and Government of the Kings Subjects within our Said County and to Chastise and
Punish all or Any Person or Persons offending Against the Said Acts Laws Statutes and Customs or Any of them
According to the directions thereof and to Call before you or Any of You All those who in our County afd. Shall
threaten to do any bodily Harm to Any of the Kings Subjects or to burn their houses or otherwise break our peace
and Misbehave themselves to find Sufficient Security of the peace and Good behaviour to us and the Said Subjects
And if they Shall Refuse to find Such Security that then You Cause them to be Committed into Safe Custody
untill they Shall be delivered by due Course of Law from thence also we have Assigned You and Every three
or More of You of Whom we will You the Said Benjamin Tasker, Charles Hammond Samuel Chamberlain
Phillip Thomas, Edward Lloyd Richd. Lee Benedict Calvert Robert Jenckins Henry Daniel Dulany
