Information:

In 1804, Gerard Brooke purchased lot 12 on Market Street in Brookeville as part of a four-lot parcel of land including lots 10-13 that served as his primary residence.1 Brooke was the heir to nearly 2,000 acres of land in Montgomery County from his father, Basil Brooke. Gerard primarily rented this land to tenant farmers as a source of income.2 In 1813, the lot on which Brooke's home was located was valued at $300.3 Brooke lived on his parcel of land in Brookeville until his death in 1821.
